Michelle Thorne is working for the Mozilla Foundation and she is a Creative Commons activist interested in open design and collaborative consumption – the idea that access to products is more important than ownership over them.
She is an expert on American copyright law, a co-author of writings related to Creative Commons and the Open Web, and a co-organizer of a Free Culture Research Conference and Mozilla Festival.
As a believer in making and doing things she helped coordinate several DIY projects, and is a trustee of the Awesome Foundation Berlin which provides small grants for projects „devoted to forwarding the interest of awesomeness in the universe.“
Since 2011, she has been working for the Mozilla Foundation as a global event strategist aiming to grow communities around Open Web projects through live events.
